Check out the latest project we have been working on in Vinings! This beauty is almost complete. We transformed an outdated, run down ranch on a fabulous street into an awesome modern farmhouse on a large private lot. Below is a before and after of the exterior front.
Cedar accents adorn the front facade with board and batten siding. The exterior paint scheme is Benjamin Moore‘s simply white (siding) and Benjamin Moore’s ornamental iron (front door).

Take a look at our latest full house renovation in the heart of Smyrna! Our skilled team at Kolby Construction transformed this outdated and deteriorated ranch into a beautiful modern farmhouse! Let’s take a look at the exterior and some of the key features inside the transformation.
BEFORE & AFTER
The front exterior of the home features cement board and batten siding painted in Benjamin Moore’s Simply White, front door painted in Benjamin Moore’s Wrought Iron, and cedar shutters and cedar accents complete the look.
As you enter the home, you are greeted with a light filled mudroom entrance with fabulous built-ins with hooks and cubbies to store backpacks, shoes, and whatever you need!
The main living area is also filled with natural light and an open floor plan for ease of living. The walls are painted with Benjamin Moore’s Moonshine in a flat sheen.
The open kitchen features stainless appliances, white shaker cabinetry, granite countertops, and a spacious island-breakfast bar with fabulous butcher block. The modern farmhouse look is completed with the open cedar shelving, modern hood, and herringbone style backsplash.
No modern farmhouse kitchen would be complete without an amazing farmhouse sink. Featured here is a large stainless farmhouse sink by Kohler.

Featured above in the master bathroom is a spacious custom tiled shower with pebble mosaics on the floor and 12×24 tile on the walls. The sleek, modern gray vanity with dual sinks and brushed nickel faucets make the gray color in the tile pop. Check out the custom framed mirror to match the casing/trim around the doors and windows in the home.
The hall guest bath is adorned in black and white tile. Shower walls feature clean crisp white subway tile with a dark gray/black grout. Floors feature a white honeycomb mosaic with black accents and matching grout. The white vanity with a black barn door look and the brushed nickel faucet complete the look!

The exterior of the home features 3 craftsman style dormer with brackets and board and batten shutters. The front porch adds character with the columns and copper roof.

The beautiful Fall weather is just around the corner! Can you imagine the orange and red colors, and the crunching of leaves as you walk? Well…. it’s not quite here yet in the greater Atlanta area, but it will be coming soon! In the meantime, let’s talk about what’s hot in bathroom remodeling.
If you have a smaller space in your master bathroom, like in the picture above, many people are choosing to eliminate the bathtub and instead opt for a spacious tiledshower. Pebble mosaics adorn the floor of this shower with a 12×24 marble look tile for the walls and bathroom floor. The sleek modern double-sink vanity has brushed nickel single handle faucets which are a popular choice. Custom framed mirrors that match the trim and mouldings in the home are another popular design option.
In the picture above, our clients had a very small space to work with in their master-bathroom, and therefore opted to transform the space while still maintaining the existing layout. We removed the old bathtub, and created a custom tiled shower with marble subway tile on the walls, marble basket weave mosaics on the shower floor and in a rug inlay on the outer floor. A frame-less shower glass gives the illusion of even more space. Brushed nickel faucets, a sleek vanity with marble counter-top modernize the bathroom into a small oasis.
If relaxing in a bathtub is a priortiy for you, then you’ll like this bathroom! The master bathroom pictured above, features a jacuzzi soaker tubthat was on our clients must have list. In order to fit this request into the bathroom, we were able to steal some space from the closet that backs up to it. 12×12 marble floor tiles with glass mosiac accents were installed throughout the bathroom and shower walls. A new double sink vanity with granite counter-tops, brushed nickel faucets, and separate mirrors finish the transformation.
